College Planning Services takes the mystery out of the financial aid application process

Financial aid is becoming increasingly more important in our current economic climate and any student can apply for it. However, too many view the process as complicated and unfamiliar. At College Planning Services, Inc. we strive to educate families about the various types and sources of financial aid available to them.

Students and families must go through a qualification process to earn financial aid. We can facilitate that process by advising families early on about what documentation and information must be gathered and made readily available in order to begin the financial aid application process.

Similar to the college application process, there are time frames by which financial aid documentation should, and in some cases must, be filed and we educate families about those deadlines.

We also direct and assist families on how to accurately complete the various financial aid forms.

The task of applying for financial aid does not end with the filing of financial aid forms. Once letters awarding aid are issued, families must be knowledgeable about how to read and interpret those award letters. Don't assume that the highest monetary award is necessarily the best award. We can assist families in determining how to compare award letters and to determine what the real out-of-pocket costs would be in each case.
