"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." John Adams, December, 1770
DREW UNIVERSITY
Applicants to the College of Liberal Arts will no longer need to submit scores from either the SAT or the ACT.
CORNELL UNIVERSITY
Starting in the Fall 2007, prospective freshmen will be allowed to apply to more than one Cornell college. Once the new policy is put into effect students will have the option of designating both a primary and a secondary college within the university. Students will not be required to do so. They will receive only one official admissions decision and will only be admitted, waitlisted or denied to one college. They will not have the option of choosing between two colleges.
LOYOLA U. in NEW ORLEANS
Will allow students to transfer, but hopes that giving them the choice will bring them back stronger than ever. For more information go to http://insidehighered.com/news/2005/11/04/loyola

ELECTRONIC APPLICATIONS: Do's and Don'ts
Do create a username and password that you will remember. Jot it down and keep the information in a safe place.
Do follow directions and complete all required steps. Remember to save your work. Some applications require that you save each page before going on to the next page. If you forget to do this your work may be lost.
Do remember to print a preview of your application before submitting it.
Do remember to proof-read your application.
Do remember to save the final copy of your application both online and in print form.
Do pay the application fee online if this is an option. Checks can take weeks to process which may result in delaying the reading of your application.
Do print and save your receipts for both the application and payment.
Do check online that the college has received all parts of the application.
Don't compose your personal statement/essay quickly or online. Use a word processing application and save your essay as a text file. Take the time to do it right.
Don't forget to save your work.
Don't be afraid to ask for help.
Don't forget to complete the Common Application supplement if the college you are applying to has one.
Don't wait until the last minute to submit your application online. Some websites slow down the closer you get to admission deadlines and some crash.
