Colleges turning away even top students
As reported by Rose Palazzolo of abcNews and Jay Mathews and Susan Kinzie of The Washington Post, rejection rates are climbing at many of the nation's elite universities. As applying to college becomes more competitive, high school students cast a wide net, sometimes applying to dozens of schools. As a result, many colleges and universities have issued a record number of rejections in the past year. So it's not all in your head. It is harder to get into college this year.
