Marilyn began working as an educational consultant in 1996 and founded College Planning Services in 2001. Prior to that time, she counseled children and families of children who had chronic or terminal illnesses.

Carolyn Cohen specializes in college and graduate admission counseling. She received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida and a J.D. from St. John's University School of Law. Carolyn is also a trained and certified mediator. Carolyn is a member of The City of New York Bar Association., the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC) and an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA). Carolyn is currently pursuing her Certificate in College Consulting and has completed the IECA Summer Training Institute.

Joseph J. O'Brien, Jr. specializes in college and graduate admission counseling. As he counsels students, Joe draws on his experience as a teacher and his analytical skills as a lawyer and arbitrator to help students know themselves better so that they can choose the colleges that are best for them and craft effective applications to those colleges. Put another way, Joe believes it is not the college that should choose the student but the student who should choose the college.
